. in Odenton, MD. Tanner
is a former assistant professor at Texas
A&M University where his research
interests included geo-structural
instrumentation, deep excavation
design in urban environments, and
deep foundation load transfer mechan-
ics. At HBI, Tanner is responsible for
evaluating technical risk for projects
involving new technologies or chal-
lenging construction conditions, and
providing engineering support for pro-
posal preparation, design submittals
and construction quality assurance.
