As you may know, the CGS Board of Directors (BOD) approved the strategy to migrate from the current management system to a commercial software platform, purpose built for not-for-profit associations called iMIS from Advanced Solutions Inc. The CGS Executive Committee (EC) will be showcasing iMIS at GeoQuebec 2026, and implementing the new system in time for the 2027 membership renewal cycle. With this change, the CGS website will be updated and modernized.
iMIS is the leading software/platform for association management with thousands of clients around the globe – there are many features available that will allow for better interaction between members.
We are also excited to present the refreshed CGS logo in Quebec City! The CGS EC has worked with key stakeholders since early 2026, considering feedback and revising the logo and branding – the final version will be used on the new website, and rolled out in all applications by early 2027.
The Canadian Geotechnical Society is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and the creation of opportunities to exchange information between members, including this exciting new initiative!
This latest update is just another way the CGS is fulfilling our stated mission: To initiate and pursue efforts leading to the technical competence and excellence of Canadian geotechnical engineering and related geoscience professionals.
