The CAPG in association with other ISSMGE groups has prepared a survey on possible overdesign in geotechnical practice. Return date for the survey is 2nd August 2019. Please note that all queries and responses should be sent to overdesign@issmge.org. Link to ISSMGE website.

The ASCE Seattle Section Geotechnical Group/Geo Institute Seattle Chapter will be hosting a two-day short course and seminar on Excavation Support and Dewatering on April 26 and 27, 2019 in Seattle, WA. 18th Global Joint Seminar on Geo-Environmental Engineering (GEE) in Montreal, QC, May 30-31, 2019: Fifty abstracts have been received so far from Japan, France, South Korea, China, Philippines, US and Canada and paper submission is underway. The objective of the GEE is to provide an international forum for the exchange of ideas and recent advances in the field of geo-environmental engineering.

Western Geotechnical Centrifuge Opening & Symposium 2019: You are invited to the official opening and international symposium to celebrate the commissioning of the new Western Geotechnical Centrifuge Facility in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Western University. The opening and a tour of the facilities will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2019, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This will be followed by an international symposium on geotechnical centrifuge technology on the afternoon of Thursday, May 2 and throughout Friday, May 3, 2019.
