The fall 2019 Cross Canada Lecture Tour schedule, featuring Dr. Ian Moore, has now been posted on the Cross Canada Lecture Tours page of the CGS website. Professor Moore has been Canada Research Chair in Infrastructure Engineering since 2001, and Head of Civil Engineering at Queen’s University since 2018. He is a world-renowned expert on the behavior and design of buried pipes, with contributions that address key issues related to the design and construction of culverts, sewers, manholes, liners, storm-water detention chambers and pressure pipe systems. He was Editor of the Canadian Geotechnical Journal until last year, and he will become President-Elect of the CGS in January 2020. He will be presenting one of two topics in each of the 12 cities he visits: Geomechanics of Trenchless Pipe and Pipeline Response to Imposed Ground Movement. Don’t miss this opportunity to attend Dr. Moore’s lecture in collaboration with your local CGS section!
