The University of Manitoba Student Chapter, in collaboration with the Manitoba Section of the CGS, hosted their first Student-Professional Networking Event on January 22. The two-hour event provided an opportunity for CGS members and students to connect with local geotechnical professionals.
The Southern Ontario Section of the CGS (CGS-SOS) has organized a Deep Foundations Workshop on February 13, 2020. This technical workshop was designed to provide insights into deep foundation construction and design. The workshop comprised a keynote presentation by a distinguished international deep foundation expert and local case studies by professionals in Ontario’s deep foundation industry. The workshop highlighted the importance of new construction techniques and design methodologies. Presenters included Dan Brown (Dan Brown and Associates), Panos Andonyadis (Geosyntec Consultant), Billy Singh (TerraProbe Inc.), Jason Crowder (Ground Engineering), Mike Porco (Grounded Engineering), and Charlie Huynh (Keller Foundations).
