Did You Know?

The CGS is launching a communication campaign for 2020 in an effort to better inform its members and establish closer ties. This campaign will be aimed at sharing CGS initiatives, recalling the main benefits of being a member, and describing how the CGS operates. This campaign follows the members survey that took place in 2019. You were heard! This month, we are addressing this question:

Did you know the CGS financially supports up to 20 students or Engineers in Training to attend the Annual CGS Conference each year?

It is a priority for the CGS to support our young members, and this program allows up to 20 young professionals or students to participate in the Annual CGS Conference and present their work. Here are a few details:

The CGS support program provides up to $900, plus student conference registration, including a contribution from the supporting Section that doesn’t exceed $300 (unless the Section decides otherwise)
Selection of the recipient is completed by the participating Section using procedures established locally by each participating Section
Recipients must be CGS members and students (undergraduate or postgraduate) or EITs. They should make a contribution to the conference as an author (preferably as a presenter), or as a representative of the Section at a specialty session, workshop, division, or committee meeting.
Participating Sections must inform the potential candidates before March 31.
