Hardy Keynote Address, titled Practical Aspects of Geotechnical Risk Management and Lessons Learned, while Ariane Locat of Université Laval will present the 2020 CGS Colloquium on Understanding spreads in Canadian sensitive clays. Lecture details and speaker bios can be found on the Keynote Speakers page of the conference website.
GeoCalgary 2020 and the CGS are closely following the rapidly changing situation regarding COVID-19 and how it may impact the conference. The safety and security of our delegates, sponsors, exhibitors, and organizers is paramount. At this time, GeoCalgary 2020 is still planned as scheduled for September, but should changes occur we will communicate updates to all registered delegates, accepted presenters, confirmed sponsors and exhibitors via email as well as through our website and social media.
Alberta Health Services and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) are actively monitoring the situation and working with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international partners. Together they are gathering information and providing advice and guidance on the issue as it evolves. To remain informed at both the global and local levels, we are also monitoring and are in communication with Health Authorities, Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVBs), and partner associations.
Full conference details, including delegate registration, paper submission details, and accommodation links, are available on the GeoCalgary 2020 website.
