In collaboration with multiple local sections across Canada, the CGS has presented four webinars, with one remaining in the series. We would like to thank the local sections for their assistance with this new initiative for the CGS that connected members from across the country, during a time when connection and knowledge-sharing is so beneficial. Previous webinars included Lessons Learned as A Trenchless Litigation Expert and Designer by Mark Knight (Collaboration with Southern Ontario Section) on May 21, Geotechnical Engineering Innovation to Advance CCUS - From Smart Rocks to the Aquistore Project by Richard Chalaturnyk (Collaboration with Southern Alberta Section) on May 25, Mitigating a fatal flaw in modern geomechanics: understanding uncertainty, applying model calibration, and defying the hubris in numerical modelling by Kathy Kalenchuk (2019 CGS Colloquium) on June 1, and An Introduction to the Design and Construction of Large Embankment Dams by Marc Smith (Collaboration with Eastern Quebec Section) on June 8.
