2022 Engineering Institute of Canada Awards and Fellowships

Nominations of CGS members for the 2022 EIC Awards and Fellowships are due to the CGS National Office by July 15 – please see the CGS website and the Spring 2021 CGS News for more information. The categories include:

Sir John Kennedy Medal

This medal is awarded in recognition of outstanding merit in the engineering profession, or of noteworthy contributions to the science of engineering or to the benefit of the Institute.

Julian C. Smith Medal

This medal is awarded for achievement in the development of Canada.

K.Y Lo Medal

This medal is awarded to a member of the EIC who has made significant engineering contributions at the international level.

John B. Stirling Medal

This medal is awarded in recognition of leadership and distinguished service at the national level within the Institute and/or its Member Societies.

Canadian Pacific Railway Engineering Medal

This medal is awarded in recognition of leadership and service over many years at the regional, branch, section or equivalent levels, within the Institute or its Member Societies.

Fellowship

CGS members can become a Fellow of the Institute on the grounds of excellence in engineering practice and exceptional contributions to the well being of the profession and to the good of the society.

Past CGS member recipients of EIC Awards and Fellowships can be found on the CGS website. It is recommended that nominators review the awards details and criteria prior to preparing nominations; please contact the CGS National Office at admin@cgs.ca if you have any questions.

Nominations must include:

a completed EIC Nomination Form which is available from eic-ici.ca/honours_awards
a nomination letter
supporting letters from colleagues, preferably Fellows of the EIC (FEIC)

All nominations submitted through CGS must be received by July 15, 2021 at admin@cgs.ca.
