Renato Macciotta (Professor – UofA), Dwayne Tannant (Professor – UBC Okanagan), Andrew Mitchell (Geotechnical Engineer – BGC Engineering), and Ingrid Berrú (PhD student - UofA) have provided the following update on the CGS Geohazards Committee’s Geohazards Connections 2022:
Geohazard Connections provides a remote platform for graduate students conducting research on geohazards to connect, share their work and receive feedback from practitioners and from colleagues and faculty members in other academic institutions. Geohazards Connections is an initiative from the Canadian Geotechnical Society’s Geohazards Committee that was successfully initiated in 2021 and organized by Dwayne Tannant. The 2022 Geohazard Connections will take place on Thursday, April 21st, 11:00 to 16:30 EST. The event will consist of 8-minute presentations plus 5 minutes for discussion and will be hosted via Zoom.
Graduate students working on geohazard research, at any stage of research, and interested in presenting should fill in the following google form by March 15, 2022: click here
The results of the selection of presentations will be communicated by March 22, 2022. We encourage practitioners, students, and researchers to support students presenting by attending the event.
